Like all hospitality markets, the Kansas City airport market was not immune to the recession. However, KCI has been one of the more stable markets in the KC metro area, and appears to by recovering. This newer lender owned Comfort Inn features ideal I-29 visibility which will make the hotel competitive for the transient interstate traveler. In addition, the hotel is the newest and the only mid market hotel of the Choice brand at KCI.
Its location on I-29 provides easy access downtown KC, with its many entertainment venues as well as the Kansas Speedway (NASCAR) and Ft. Leavenworth Army base.
It is not often that a newer airport hotel is put on the market, especially one that is lender owned. The Comfort Inn shares parking with a new Candlewood suites, also owned by the same lender, and is offered as a package. Both hotels are still ramping, but should be able to compete quite well within their compset.
